Quality Assurance KI Group

The Quality Assurance system makes precise actions in order to guarantee the maximum quality and safety of the products, and acts following different procedures, depending on the specific risks of the product and of the supplier:

· research and selection of qualified producers, with structures corresponding to the rules in force for the food safety (HACCP), subject to the organic production method (EC Reg. no. 2092/91) and carrying out controls on the raw materials and the manufacturing processes;

· a plan of self−control of the company, also including inspecting exams and analytical controls on the products arriving in our warehouse, as well as control procedures on the storing and distributing activities;

· staff teaching and training, in order to guarantee an effective implementation of the Quality Assurance procedures;

· strict collaboration with some of the best Italian legal and technical−scientific advisers.

We pay particular attention to avoid launching on the market OGM products. Indeed, we adopt rigorous Quality Assurance criteria, even analytical ones, which start from the raw material or from the final products, depending on the different situations.

Certification
The organic products can be easily recognized, as they have a special mark on their label. They are controlled by agencies recognized by the Agriculture Ministry. These agencies must control the manufacturing process in each single phase of the cycle, and must verify that the producers are suitable, depending on the product quality they guarantee and on the production methods, which must correspond to the regulations. A firm that works in the field of the organic farming must provide an organic certification; this is the only real guarantee they can give, following a protocol of strict regulations to which they have to stick, both for the production of the raw materials and for their possible manufacturing into finished products.

The European Community mark

This is the mark the European Community adopted on 22 December, 1999. It is optional and can be printed on the labels of the organic products which contain at least 95% of the ingredients from organic farming, certified and coming from the EC countries. This mark can be added to other marks, national or private, for the organic products.

The DEMETER mark
The Demeter mark identifies the products coming from biodynamic farming.

The labels
The labelling of the organic products must be approved by recognized certifying bodies, and the control must be performed following the EC Regulation no. 2092/91.
For instance, on the KI products, you will find the following wordings:
Ingredients: each ingredient from organic farming is preceded by an asterisk (*).
The wording "from organic farming" written after the sale denomination of the product (e.g. durum wheat spaghetti – from organic farming) presupposes that at least 95% of the agricultural ingredients contained in the product are organic. When the organic percentage ranges from 70% (minimum percentage admitted to declare a product ‘organic’) to 95%, the wording above must be preceded by the right percentage (e.g. “85% from organic farming”).
The asterisk before each ingredient refers to the wording “*Organic Farming – EC Control System” and refers to the EC Regulation no. 2092/91.
Bioagricert s.r.l. (formerly Bioagricoop), is the certifying body that controls KI Group.
Aut. D.M. Mi.P.A.F. del 29/07/2002 n° 91822 is the reference to the Ministerial Decree with which the Agriculture Ministry recognized and authorized the control−activity of the body.
IT BAC 01 0015 T XXXXXX
IT indicates Italy
BAC is the acronym of the Control Body
01 identifies the region where the firm operates (01 = Piedmont, North of Italy)
0015 represents the code of the controlled firm
T identifies the manufactured products (F is for the fresh products)
The 6 digits that follow indicate the authorization number, given from the control body to the firm, for the printing of the labels.
